#“vox will be the main antagonist of season 2” and the only main character he cares about is alastor

S2 of Hazbin already giving me X-Men vibes in the sense that the entire story revolves around two old men making their relationship drama everyone else's problem
I have not seen x men so I'm just taking the latter part of this ask
I mean considering how vox is apparently gonna be the main MAIN antagonist of season 2 that sounds about right LMAOOOO
and you know it's funny because vox legitimately has like no other motivation for the hotel other than alastor, any conflict with the hotel and him is absolutely going to involve alastor
like. most of the hotel literally have not even interacted with him other than PENTIOUS who's in HEAVEN. and well angel dust but they haven't had a proper on-screen interaction yet, all we know is they know of each other's presence due to their connections with val.
in fact, most of the main cast have had more interactions with or at least been in the same room with val more than vox. like angel dust is a given, but charlie interacted with val in episode 4, niffty, husk and cherri directly faced val eye to eye in episode 6 (and well in niffty's case, a bit more than that LMAO). vaggie's at least seen val from heaven's courtroom through the magic ball thing.
so honestly seems like the vee the hotel is most familiar with is val, which is funny because alastor has literally never been in a room with val on screen (insert alastor's sex aversion and val being an alastor repellent joke here). and even though he never interacted with velvette, he's the only one of the main cast to have ever been in a room with her. alastor being here like "yes please go ahead and waste all your interactions on valentino. I will sit here being the only one to interact with the other 2 vees, who may be just as bad as him but are ones I am able to tolerate a bit more, just don't put me in a room with him."
anyways sorry I got a bit off track but yeah with vox being the main MAIN antagonist, 100% his and alastor's drama will probably have to take the forefront considering he's the only one of the main cast he has any sort of significant interaction with.

I found some Hazbin Hotel Season 2 information and I'm NOT excited for this season? (Don't know if it's official or if they'll stick to it.)
(MY THOUGHT PROCESS READING THE POST)
• There’s an unexpected surprise about Alastor’s backstory (New)
I'm pretty sure that whatever it is, it's not gonna surprise me at all, but you can try.
• Vox is a very big antagonist
Like he should've been in the first season instead of the angels?
• The season will consist of 8 episodes
That's just another way of saying this season is gonna be rushed and crammed as hell.
• Sir Pentious will be an important character
Why?? Cuz he turned into an angel after he died?? They already rushed those two scenes of him dying and being resurrected. I doubt he'll be that important.
• Voice recording for the season has wrapped
Not that I wanna bother watching, but let's hope the dialogue won't be cringe (I'm already jinxing this am I?)
• The season will have more songs than Season 1
VIV PLEASE!!! That is the last thing I want!! Some of the songs are okay, but the way I see it, they do a lot more storytelling than the show itself. We do not need so many songs in an 8 episode season!
• First animatic clip featuring Baxter was released
Yeah I know . . . It was fine.
• Charlie and Vaggie will have their own “sexy life”
Oh no .. . .Vivziepop, Adam, PLEASE! DO NOT ruin the only decent ship in this goddamned show!!
• There will be more of Rosie with the other Overlords
What could Rosie or the overlords have anything to do with the story at this point? Like what is their purpose? I don't think there was even a point in them being the center of that ONE episode. And even if there was a purpose, their scene was so rushed in, I didn't have time to care.
• The season will be bigger and there will be a lot more action
Bigger how? You just said there will be 8 eps.
I bet there's more action than the story right?
• There will be a “fun, sexy song” between Charlie and Vaggie
• More time will be spent in Heaven compared to Season 1
WHY?????
• Alastor’s backstory will be touched upon, but won’t be the main focus
I feel like it should be. Why even bring it up if it's not that important?
• The wait won’t be as long as it took between the release of the pilot and Season 1
Trust me, I'm not waiting.

Ok I can’t help it - I gotta talk spoilers/leaks. Don’t worry I’ll keep it to very clearly marked posts and make it so you have to expand to see anything. Please lmk if I’m missing anything 🥰😘🫡 (and I will delete any lectures - I’m desperate for content and while I don’t support the guy who did this, I’m still gonna eat cause I’m starving XD also they caught him and jailed and fined 100k 🍻)
SPOILERS
SPOILERS
SPOILERS
SPOILERS
SPOILERS
Official:
- Creator Viv summarized season 3 as “revelations” and season 4 as “family” and likes season 3 the most, alluding to this being where more Lilith is revealed
- We get a sexy pop Chaggie song
- Vaggie’s bow “suits her” per her voice actress - maybe backstory?
- Charlie will question her worldview and work on her powers
- More Vox as main antagonist
-Nifty gets a fast paced song
-Baxter finally appears - replaced by sir Pentious in final story edits, he’s basically a fishy mad scientist who wants to study redemption - there’s an official clip a few seconds long but also longer leaked where Charlie cannot stop calling him Pentious
-Erika (VA) accidentally said that Charlie would be talking to Lilith at some point
Leaked:
- Lute is losing her shit and hallucinating Adam with a super badass solo (see TikTok Gravity) - she alludes to killing Vaggie and I’m fucking terrified but the song is fire 🔥
- Lute has a gold arm prosthetic that seems fully functional; can Vaggie have an eye please? 🙏
- Lute is very openly arguing in court against Sera and Abel and there’s a hilarious exchange when she learns she’s not head exorcist + she begs Sera more after the trial too
- Abel is the leader of the exorcists even though Adam didn’t like him - he’s a pacifist and either dating or besties with St Peter
- Pentious was a coward who watched a Jack the Ripper-esque character kill women in the 1800s and didn’t report it - he redeemed himself by trying to save his friends (this whole scene is on TikTok with Sera and Pentious crying and Lute being a brat)
- Pentious wants to go back to hell with his friends and Emily tries to get him happy there and makes heavenly egg bois for him (song is on TikTok and the worst of those released - kinda welcome to heaven like in quality… least favorite so far)
- The Sailor moon esque character referred to in some interviews is the speaker of god, who resembles Stolas and his family… leaving many to speculate if they are fallen angels
- Alastor was a serial killer who promised a mysterious task for Rosie, who owns his soul until he completes it - he was mistaken for a deer and shot but became the most powerful sinner in hell in return - they have a super catchy cute 1920s duet (also on TikTok - mimzy cameo on top of his piano in his flashback too)
- Awesome banter with Lucifer and Alastor (Cheri and Angel watching and Angel tells Lucifer he should have moved in sooner)
- Vees giving hotel bad press and somehow potentially involved Charlie hitting Velvete and harping on how she didn’t “closed fist hit” her while Vaggie tries to get her to let it go and stay at the hotel + cute I love you exchange but also more steamrolling by Charlie not listening to her GF…
- there’s official art of Alastor restrained and I’ve heard things about Vox threatening to rape him but I’ve not found this myself and heard it was a fake Russian hack? Idk
- pilot from 2019 is NOT cannon, with Charlie meeting Killjoy for the first time and reaffirming that she is bisexual (lots of homophobia) + she has nifty with her!
Ok what am I missing? I didn’t find anything for husk and only those single scenes for Angel, Lucifer, and Vaggie. I’ve heard it was mostly the first two episodes but I hope these three don’t get neglected and it’s just that the first 2 eps are more Heaven/Lute/Alastor focused

Hiii :) it’s me again, the anon who yapped about fanon Vox, I’m here because I need to yap again: I’m kinda worried about season 2
After rewatching season 1, I felt like the stakes weren’t high enough for Charlie & the Hotel. One would think going into battle against Heaven would be devastating and disastrous but the only characters that permanently died were…background characters. I don’t count Sir Pentious because bro is alive and will most likely have a bigger role to play in the story now that he’s in heaven. The hotel was destroyed, yeah, but like minutes later it was rebuilt with the help of Lucifer.
That’s another reason why I feel like the stakes aren’t high enough, they added Lucifer way too soon. How are Vox & other future villains meant to stand a chance against the King of Hell?? I think it would’ve been better if took Charlie a couple of seasons to convince her dad to help her cause.
My main worries for season 2 are about Vox because I can’t stop thinking about him LMFAO. Anyways, I’m scared Vox will be a second Adam, goofy villain that gets killed off pretty quickly and anti-climactically. Vox was already a silly villain in season 1 (sending Pentious to the Hotel as a spy, cheering when Alastor got his ass beat, etc, etc.) so it’ll feel like a waste if they continue writing him that way. I want Vox to be an actual threat and kill one of the main characters PERMANENTLY. Preferably Angel Dust cause it’ll cause a shit ton of discourse since he’s well-loved by both the characters in-universe and the fandom but I don’t think that’ll happen. I just need Vox to lock in 🙏
Don’t get me wrong, I love Hazbin Hotel (only because of Alastor & the Vees but shhh 🤫) but I want the story to evoke emotions from me, I wanna be anxious, I wanna feel hyped, but I don’t feel any of this when things go too perfectly for the main characters and everything goes wrong for the antagonists.
I’m so sorry for the long ass essay, I would make my own post but I don’t wanna be perceived 😭😭
oh i completely understand ur worries nonny dont even worry about the essay
i definitely feel like theres a Risk of that happening to vox especially since . well. vivz doesnt have the best track record to begin with (cannot speak for hb but the way she deals with some characters and resolves their arcs is. questionable) but i personally think (hope? believe?) that since there are members on the writing and animation team who are fans of the vees that she wont just kill vox off for no reason / comic relief(or any of the vees, really) + also of all the vees vox is probably the most likely to die in a dramatic scene considering how he and al are set up to be character foils and killing him off in the stupidest way would be such a horrific storyline fumble i cannot in good conscience believe that vivziepop would even be able to fathom its stupidity. of course im holding out hope still because if theres one thing ive learnt about the internet its that you do not under any circumstances trust any public figures to make the right decisions ever and this applies to animated shows too.
vox killing someone forever would really manage to cement his place in the storyline as a big baddie, but i do have to disagree on wanting angel dead- personally- and as much as it pains me to say this- i think him killing husk or niffty would have the same effect while not interfering with angels healing arc: in fact itd even further angels healing arc and self discovery, alongside giving alastor a reason to perhaps go toe to toe with vox. (i do think that killing angel off would have an interesting result but it feels like an abrupt and unnecessary move to make, tho it may just be ny preference to want to see recovery arcs fulfilled so those characters can live their best lives)
++re what you said ab the hotel not having enough stakes for the next season, i totally agree- bringing in lucifer feels a bit like a cheap copout and didnt really serve to further **charlies** character arc (arguably you could say making up with her father developed her backbone more but. hm. idk you couldve done that in a multitude of other ways sooo)

HAZBIN HOTEL SEASON FINALE RANT/THEORY/REVIEW
//SPOILERS BELOW THE CUT//
The Show
Overall, I’d give the show an 8/10. It’s got some issues, mainly with the pacing and some writing points (and me personally some of the humor). But it’s got a lot of pros including stellar animation, music and voice acting. So it’s still VERY enjoyable.
The Finale
It was AWESOME!!! Just a few notes:
-I love Alastor and Rosie’s dynamic, I think that it’s one of the few genuine friendships Alastor has and I love it
-Vox’s commentary was SO. HILARIOUS. I was excited to see him again hoping he’d take on a semi-big role again, but this was even better
-Sir Pentious has had my heart since the beginning and seeing him die so suddenly was…shocking. I was in shock. But it fit his character
-I’M SO GLAD HE GOT INTO HEAVENNNN 😭🥹
-MY BABY BOY DESERVES IT
-Alastor’s voice even without the radio effect is kinda…
Theories
I’m curious to know what the terms of Alastor’s “bondage” is. He seems very desperate to escape it, after all. Once his staff is broken, he can’t use his greater power against Adam. I feel like Alastor’s been restricted of his power by Lilith because of his lines in the closing number, and that has to be through the staff.
I think that Lilith is being set up to be the big bad of the series, now that it’s confirmed she’s “on the angels’ side”. The thing is, I don’t think anyone knows she’s in Heaven. I think only Lute knows about her existing there, but she strikes a deal with Lilith and doesn’t tell anyone.
I’m not sure what the terms of the deal would have been, but Lute seemed to have been tasked with killing Adam. And now she can ask something of Lilith. That something is most likely what will make Lilith the main antagonist of the show. She has to be…
Predictions
I’ve seen some debate between whether Alastor or Lilith will be the big bad of Season 2 and/or 3. Assuming we get 3 seasons; I’ve no idea how many we’re getting. With either one, there’d be some pretty good stakes. But I believe it’s Lilith, no doubt.
She’s been concealed in the shadows for a while and is clearly a much higher power than Alastor. So while Alastor will be a big problem later on, I think he’s not going to be as big as Lilith. Also there’s so much more mystery about her than Alastor and it’d be a GREAT buildup.
In conclusion,
I CAN’T WAIT FOR SEASON 2!!!!

I'll be okay with Hazbin Hotel season 2 only having 8 episodes IF that season mainly focuses on the smaller stuff, like Charlie again trying to focus on redeeming sinners and the Vee's plans against the main characters.
As much as I want to see more big moments about things such as Lilith and what she has been doing all this time, getting hints about Eve and Roo, seeing Charlie interacting with angels like Jesus Christ and her angelic aunts/uncles, and seeing other HH characters like the von Eldritch family and Crymini (who again I think should be a Hellhound) I would like to see those stories be expanded and explored properly and not be rushed in a small season like Vivize and the writers had to do for Hazbin Hotel season 1.
I got a few ideas for what the 8 episodes can be about related to these things:
The season premiere has the hotel crew meeting their new resident Baxter. I can see the episode going over several other things such as the aftermath of the season 1 finale, like how stopping the Extermination has made the Pride ring a little crowded and sadly the characters learn there is going to be another Extermination happening in about 9 months. We could learn that Charlie has a bit of PTSD from the battle and is still guilty about Pentious' death. Maybe as a way to coup wiht this she has doubled her efforts to find a way to get sinners into Heaven.
I also could see such an episode having a plot point where people are checking into the hotel BUT most don't want to actually be better people, something Baxter does at first before slowly changing, so Charlie and co. now need to weed out those that want to be redeemed from those just using the hotel for various purposes. I could see the last idea being the premise of its own episode, as it would be a great way to add several characters to the hotel staff/group at once.
Exploring Vox and Alastor's past. This could explore a bit of Alastor's human life, but also what happened to Alastor 7 years ago. Great way to start dabbling into the Roo (or Lilith if you believe in that) connection theory.
Charlie trying to terminate Angel's contract with Valentino once and for all. I have brought up the question why Charlie hasn't made Angel leave his job as a requirement of him staying at the hotel and after seeing how badly Val treats Angel and with the Vees being the main antagonist of S2, this should happen. This would basically be like Helluva Boss's mid season 2 episode but I can see it being more dramatic and pleasing to see Val lose. this can also lead to Val getting more motivated to take down the hotel crew in the end.
Charlie goes to Lucifer for information on how Heaven and Hell decided who goes where after they die, in hopes of finding a clue or angle for her redemption program. This episode could also count as the eventual flashback episode showing how Lucifer and Lilith met, the whole apple thing, and the war between God and Lucifer's forces. Charlie could learn the shocking truth about how something really went down compared to the version she was told/led to believe.
A episode in Heaven where we see Sir Pentious getting use to Heaven while he and Emily deal with Lute. Like I brought up in my first season 2 episode idea post, they could decide to disobey Sera's orders and try to contact Charlie to show that redeeming sinners is possible.
Alastor cashes in the favor Charlie owes him by asking her to show her a legendary item or place, which leads to Charlie taking him to a special area. In no time shenanigans happen like something gets stolen or gets out of the room, causing the two to clean up the mess before something bad happens. Along with seeing Charlie and Alastor bond, especially if we get more of Al's life in such an episode, there would be a twist at the end where we find out this was part of Alastor's plan/mission as someone else was able to get in the special area get either another item, read something from a powerful book, or something else mysterious. Maybe Mimzy steals something in it and we get some development from her and she joins the hotel.
An episode about Niffty and her backstory. She didn't get any serious development in season 1, and such a premise was one of the scrapped ideas for the original HH season 1. I could see this being a good episode that is more entertaining then doing anything to advance the main story.
Speaking of which, another scrapped HH episode had Angel getting kidnapped and Husk and co. go searching for him, especially Husk. That would be a GREAT episode to have airing before the season finale.
A crazed Lute performs the Extermination attack of Hell earlier than scheduled. The events here could lead to the season finale, as I could see the Vee's attacking the weakened Charlie and the other characters after they have just dealt with the angelic forces.
The finale would be a battle between the hotel crew and the Vees, where maybe near the end Emily and other heavenly forces come to aid Charlie' side. I can see it ending with the Vees being punished by Charlie like maybe Val and Vox temporarily lose their Overlord titles (though Velvette getting out of it somehow) but Heaven as an apology for Lute's actions says that while the angels are currently debating on the topic, they will hear out Charlie's redemption plan again if she can redeem another sinner or two without aid from her father or and demons/angels before the end of a set deadline (AKA the season 3/4 finale). The season ends with everyone being happy until they are surprised by the appearance of Lilith at the hotel.
Another good thing about having season 2 focus o these things is that it will mean other, bigger stories will have to be told in later seasons and while currently mixed about Helluva Boss' planned 4 season run, I LOVE the idea of Hazbin Hotel having a lot of seasons.
Do you think these things should be the focus of Hazbin Hotel season 2? What could you see happening in it?
#hazbin hotel#vivziepop#let us hope season 3 and 4 will have more episodes#hazbin hotel charlie#hazbin hotel alastor

Tal'Dorei Travelouge: Season 2 Episodes 4-6: Creed: The True Threat to All of Tal'Dorei
Hello all you happy people! It's week 2 of Tal'Dorei Travelouge, my weekly look at Legend of Vox Machina season 2 as it comes out and this was both popular enough last week and not as much time out of my schedule as I thought despite being utterly swamped. So we're back for this week as we get something close to a beholder, Vax makes a bargin with death because surely those always end well, Keyleth passes through fire, and Scalan sings for a Sphinx and lets us know creed exists in this universe. All this and more under the cut, full spoilers for this weeks episodes.
Those Who Walk Away: So we start with the second half of a two parter.. and while I expected the secret origin of Trinket at some point, saved by Vex by trappers and thus bonded to her for life. What I didn't expect was for it to gut me so much, as not only does Vax have to mercy kill his mother but he watched. That poor baby bear. Anyways this week we more suprises as when they rejoin the party with us.. never finding out what happened in that hallway apparently, Kashaw reveals ressurection magic STILL EXISTS.
I assumed it'd just be sidestepped completely, with any near deaths just being severe injurys, but it's nice to have as , without spoiling when how or why, there are some pretty sizeable death scenes i'd love to see adapted i've heard of one genuinely dramatic, crushing and leading to a fairly brutal payback.. and the other being entirely stupid in the best way possible. That said they impliment it well, in a way that's less dragon ball z "DEATH DOESN'T MATTER ANYMORE YOU GET A FREE SUNDAE", and instead "It's possible but VERY unlikely it'll work and takes expert skill to pull off", throwing in the fact that our main healer PIke.. has never done one and only does this one with Kash's help. There's also the fact this one.. very nearly dosen't work until we get a line i'd heard of thanks to some fan art.. and that is utterly awesome "Take me instead you raven bitch". In one act Vax sacrfices himself. And i'd like to , thanks to said world of critical roll book, if I may, share the real world story for this as it's utterly fascenating. So when Liam O'Brian did this.. he had NO expectation Vax would live. None. He wanted to save his close friends character, and figured "Well this is done, i'll roll my next character, it's a big sacrifice but it's worth it". Matt... didn't let him off so easy and instead had her take it in another way: Vax becomes the Matron of Raven's champion. As you can probably guess little good can come from this in the long run but in the short I do like that it gives Vax some new heads up: it gives him visions of the calamity allowing him to figure out where the sphinx is.... and he now has instinctual knoweldge of said events.. he dosen't know how he just does. That dosen't come into play until our third.
This also means he has to do a test.. and at a bad time as Zahara decides to go full on antagonist and dump a legally distinct from a beyonder creature on them, nearly killing everyone, all because she assumes the take should have the Deathwalker's Ward.. despite it MANIFESTING on Vax's chest.
Kash naturally nopes out of this and eventually helps, but it's a very tense, very awesome fight as one by one our heroes fall, and it's left to Vax. Vax's trial is also neat as he fights Perve On ina battle.. only to realize it's one of those "don't fight it" tests, to accept death so to speak. So as a result Vax gets a fuckton of neat new abilities I love> one is a nod to the stream: in said stream Vax had some kickass boots that were horribly broken as Matt didn't think about the fact they basically gave him super speed when he ported them over from Pathfinder. IT's one of the things I loved about finding out more of the show from the book: Even with an expertly crafted world Matt is just as prone to mistkaes. Purvan's name was another one of those. He may still be a genius who fucking crafts entire battlefields with expert percision... but he can still goof up.
So to compromise, the ablities are now part of the deathwalker's ward instead, which makes more sense and thus makes vax a combo of the flash and spiderman, able to dart around, easily dodge the creature, then throw a knife in it's goddamn eye. Just like the green goblin and his famous catchphrase "OH GOD THERE'S A KNIFE IN MY EYE WHY IS THERE A KNIFE IN MY EYE".
Kash and Zahara leave the party, and it's clear Vax feels dammned by this.. and while I didn't notice it at first, his personality changes a lot after this: he's no longer as happy go lucky, snarky ... he knows something's wrong with him, he's bound to death and he can't escape it, and he almost lost one of the two people he can't afford to loose. It's easy to see why he shifts but it's heartning to see a guy who while dour was at least happy so miserable and serious. He also punches Percy in the gut for trying to apologize. Granted it's realistically done: Vax simply says not now and CLEARLY isn't in the mood to accept it and Percy at least means well: he's clearly not trying to justify it he just.. feels terrible he nearly got the woman he loves killed and wants to apologize. It's clear the party isn't in a great place and it's not going to get much better.. well for most of them anyway. It also brings up something I like about this season so far: the character focus. Last season had a few arcs for everyone: Keyleth got a better grip on her anxiety, PIke came to terms with who she is, and Vex realized what a bitch she'd been to keyleth... but Percy was the clear center: the briarwoods were his mission, his purpose and letting go of his vengeance was his cross to bear. This isn't a bad thing: Percy is a great character and everyone still had plenty to do, and they were ultimately limited by the story itself: the first major arc they needed to do was Percy's so he got the lions share of the focus. It was also only two stories really with the pilot being more setup and the rest being the long war between our heroes and the briarwoods and between percy and his desire for vengance.
In contrast season 2 is a bit more episodic: there's still a clear main story in the conclave and the vestige hunt, but each adventure is it's own thing for the most part. Even though the first two episodes are back to back in how the story is they feel like two entirley diffrent stories that build up to the larger one. only the Sunken Tomb and Those Who Walk Away has felt like one huge episode, and that was fair given everything that happened.
And honestly.. I like it. It reminds me of when Final Space did a similar thing with it's second season. The one big story approach isn't terrible, it works for plenty of shows, but to me having little stories within the bigger one allows for more character and world stuff between the bigger plot moments and lets the subplots breathe: we got ample build up to where the twins are now, and plenty of background lurking of Grog and his growing dependance on Craven edge, who continiues to hunger. It allows the season to really build while letting everyone shine. So far we've had major arcs for Grog, Vax, Vex to an extent , Pike tagging along for grog's, and now ...it's keyleth's turn
Pass Through Fire: Pass Through Fire is a great example of this, as while it's an okay episode overall, it really does add to the season. It also shows me the team learned form last season as in hindsight, like I said, the focus was pretty percy shaped, with just enough else for it to not be a problem. So it's clear the team made sure with this season and it's wider scope everyone gets a chance to really get fleshed out.
In this case Keyleth deals with the fact her mom never came back from her armante, and allows it to explain why said Armante.. wasn't at all important to season 1 besides a passing mention: Keyleth has been actively avoiding finishing it as she's scared of both leadership and ending up like her mom. It adds layers to her anxiety, which was already relatable enough to me being someone who also suffers from it: part of it is just being afraid she's not good enough, something I painfully feel all the time. We also get Scalan singing while he thinks Grog is taking a dump and Grog trying to hide his talking new murder friend sword from everyone. It's not deathly important but Il ike the building tension: the sword wants blood and he dosen't care who he gets it from. Which wasn't a problem with Sylas: if his sword got hungry he could just go stab a dude and share a meal with what I now assume was his best friend. Like .. they went on picnics and stuff. He sang at Silas and Delilah's vow renewal. They were tight.
Point is it's nice to see her get this focus and to bring up a valid condrum, as while she considers visting the fire ashari since their close, it goes from a passing curosity they don't have time for.. to a deadly danger they dont' have time for as the volcano their in errupts. And it normally dosen't do that. It also nicely shows how badly Vax is rattled by events as he's so focused on the mission he snaps at Keyleth they don't have time and she storms off.. well Mighty Hawks off
And the rest all give him a what the hell and go to save her. The ensuring fight is decent, though the visuals can get chaotic. Long story short someone opened a portal to hell and Keyleth's dad needs her help closing it. He's of the air ashari, a group of nomads of various races, mostly elves, who help people, each one coresponding to an element. And if your wondering "That kinda sounds avatar the last airbender".. your exactly correct as Marisha was a fan of the show, had just watched through it and wanted to do something like that. It also nicely built in a reason for her character to gradually get stronger.
We also get Kim and Allura and the reunion feels off: i mean the gang being happy tos ee them alive, if baffled is nice.. but they really never bonded or antyhing the way they did with their stream counterparts, so it feels like their just writing them the way that's easier. It does make some sense as the group did save Tal'Dorei. As for how their alive Allura teleported them in time, they investigated this, and as it turns out it's their fault: like in the stream Allura was also part of an adventuring party once with Kima, and they fought Thordak. There's even a nice easter egg of one of the party being a dragonkin, as sir not appearing in this cartoon Tiberius Stormwind, played by Orion Akaba, was an early party member and also kind of a prick, but WAS close to allura, so ti's a nice nod to that and shows that despite how the parting wasn't the best even if it was likely for the best the gang hasn't forgotten where they started.
Point is Keyleth has to as you'd guess overcome her difficulties to pass through fire, that's the title, and gain control of the fire elment, sealing the portal, kiling the fire drakes and saving the day. I don't have a ton to say about this one: Keyleth's character growth is really nice, her new outfit is lovely, and of course i'm always going to support some Vaxleth ship tease and kima and allura kissing, with both planning to head to whitestone.. though we get some foreshadowing as the elven city seemingly.. vanished. And given we're going to the feyrealm next week, there was a sudden vanishing and the twins dad is a known asshole they have some issues to unpack with... yeah I can see exactly where this is going.
Into Rimecleft: This was easily the week's best , and that's not downtalking the rest: Pass Through Fire was fine and Those Who Walk Away was truly excellent. Neither are bad.. this episode was just esepcially good as it went. The starting nightmare helped: Prime Video picked THIS as the preview clip some reason despite not only showing Vex survivies, which isn't a huge twist but still maybe don't tell people who don't know critical roll that, but a fairly brutal scene. Still said scene is effective showing that Grog, despite badly clinging to craven edge, is deeply afraid of what Craven Edge means for him and sees where it could go and the image of PIke reaching out to him wondering why he killed her is TERRIFYING. We then get a nice tonal shift as we go from the deeply terrifying opening, to Pike genuinely trying to get grog to open up.. to one of the funniest jokes in the series as while Pike TRIES to get Scalan's help on this his response is to do his best creed impression and say "Dosen't every man play with his sword a little?" I fucking lost it and I kick myself for not repeating it a few times like Purvan. IT's pure comedy gold, and I didn't expect Sam to pull an OSW, but here we are and it was brillant. I want a full version of that song. I also want to know of Creed exists in Emon. LIke.. Scanlan is basically Eminem, long story, so it's probable but i'ts rife with terriffying implications, like that the infection has spread to alternate planes of existance, that Scanlan might one day form creed, that maybe the dragons shoudln't be the thing Vox Machina wipes out first. Just saying Dragons come and go but creed will linger like a wet fart for a decade unless they stamp that shit out NOW.
Anyways onto the important stuff: Percy gave Vex his jacket. Damn that was cute... not only her taking it but him blushing. percy fucking blushed. I didn't know he was capable. He's so pale and british but it happened. It happened and i'm glad. The real treat of the episode though is Tony Plana as Kami.... i'm using Scalan's nickname on the ground there is no way in whatever Tal'Dorei has that functions as hell that I will be able to spell that correctly multiple times. Plana is one of those actors you see in a lot of stuff but generally not starring, though he's voice acting royalty for starring in a game i'll likely cover at some point, Grim Fandango. At any rate he's gold here as he offers vox machina your usual challenge: defeat 70 death gorgons, survivie the labyrinth of misery or wound Kami once... which no one has ever pulled off. Yeah unsuprisingly our heroes pick the last one, aka the dumbest option.. well okay everyone but grog picks that one. Though what I like is while ti's an obvious trap.. it's also a nice show of how off his game Vax is: While he can be impulsive, normally he's one of the group's cheif strategiests, alongside his sister and percy. But here he's just like "I THINK ONE OF US CAN SCORE A DAMN HIT". The line sounds like him but the actions aren't.
So unsuprisingly it's quickly down to Scanlan, and what he'd do to solve it was blindingly obvious to me: he'd never been wounded, you can't hit him.. but he never said the wound had to be physical. And he just so happens to have a mate he hadn't seen in centuries. What makes this show, this character and this moment special though.. is the how. Scalan singing a song is obvious, he's a bard.. but him singing a fucking power ballad, along with a projection of osisya, and the entire sequence being as stunning as it is heartbreaking, that is what makes this show magic. I also love the heart to heart after, wtih Scanlan admitting he knows romance well enough, but has never actually been in love.. something I painfully relate to, as I do just chasing and chasing it. Kamoji's advice really hit
As a result the rest of Vox Machina are restored, and have a hearty group "the fuck" when they find Scanlan has a new pal. But eh it gets Scanlan a neat new sword, mythcarver and the location of the next two vestiges: one is in the feywild, which Keyleth might be able to get to, so it's no problem. The other.. is in westrunn. And while our heroes didn't know it till now, we've been seeing it ocasionally as Umbrasyl has conquered it and gotten the help of the local goliaths... including Grog's own Uncle.. and what I like is while Pike chalks up his reluctance to face him when he finds out his gauntlets are a vestige as his behavior.. we can tell it's NOT Craven Ed. I won't spoil whu for those who haven't seen the campaign or like me seen campaign spoilers, as we'll likely dive headlong into Grog and PIke's backstory next week. For now instead.. it's time for something series original. See part of that westrunn footage.. was giving Dr. Ripley a bit more of an active roll as she has some sort of magic Jareth ball that allows her to see what's going on.. and thus uses that as leverage with Umbrasyl, getting him to go after vox machina. As such our heroes meet the final boss of the season early and Kamy does his best to help. .but ultimately it's not enough. It' sa great battle.. but our heroes simply aren't ready as they have all of one vestige after Umbrasyl steals Mythcarver and while Kamy does his best.. he's simply not up to dragon level and has a very tragic death saving Scanlan. The entire fight is just brutal and hopeless, with Grog being the only one to put up a fight.. and it's not a good thing as Craven Edge fully posseses him to give him the
But also casues one of the most brutal scenes of the series as Grog FUCKING STABS PIKE FOR REAL, something I was not prepared for..l nor I was the twist of the party getting scattered: Keyleth, The Twins and Percy end up in the Feywild and Scalan, Pike, Grog and Fucking Asshole Sword Man end up in Westrunn i'm guessing, hence forth known as Team Double Date and Team Stabbed in the Gut. What will happen to these valient teams/ We'll find out next week. Thanks for reading.
P.S. I think I forgot to mention it but NEIN NEIN! I'm super excited about this deal as it not only means seasons 4 and 5 are in the bag, but spinoffs a plenty are all but assured, as is The Legend of Bells Hells in a few years when that's finished.

I have never seen a more mean spirited list where its options misunderstand the series
1- Rushed AF. look guys, S1 for most streaming services get the 8-10ep treatment because that's what gets order, unless stated, this is NOT always in control of the creators, also the series has 1 season to its name, you can label it as rushed when it's completed, otherwise, you don't know what a slow burn is.
2- Racism, WHERE TF DID YOU EVEN SEE IT IS S1?
3- Graphic Sex Scene - WHERE!? if this is in ep 4, we didn't see any dicks going around outside of seeing Val grind up on Angeldust and even then, it wasn't graphic and used to show how awful Val treats Angeldust, if it's not to your liking that's fine, but many SA victims within the fandom and some outside have at praised ep4's rep.
4-Painfully bad songs, man you must not be a musical stage show fan then and it shows.
5- "even more r4pe jokes" WHERE? you mean the scene with sir pentious at the bar called CONSENT where he emerged unharmed, clothes intact because any rationally thinking person can tell he said no, and they let him go?
6- Lute get completely forgotten. Dude SLOW BURN, Lute won't be the main antagonist this season, but we'll definitely be seeing her
7- "5 + new characters who add nothing" At this point why do you even watch the show? everyone who is introduced in this season is being set up so future seasons won't be saddled with trying to introduce them. and even then, half the cast outside the hotel staff ARE SIDE/MINOR/SUPPORITNG characters they aren't the main focus
8- Adam never gets brought up apart from jokes" - oh no the misogynist gets laughed at also kinda hard for him to be brought up when he's dead outside of flashbacks
9-"an actually good song" - you must have ignored how most of the songs in the show actually hit the top lists on spotify
10-"rushed redemptions" Pentious's redemption was shown in the season and was believable, his small acts of kindness and his willingness to put his life on the line to beat adam earned his redemption it wasn't rushed, but even if it was, again this goes back to the order Prime gave to have 8eps, until we know for certain, we can only guess it wasn't in the teams control.
11- "pentious contributes nothing" i'm beginning to think this list is biased against Pentious and is just looking for reasons to put a bingo
12- "Only 1 real Chaggie Scene" Sapphic-phobia must be blinding this person because Chaggie has moments throughout the season, they don't need a makeout session, the simple gestures, eye contact, hand holding, etc. all show they are a couple and there are couples who act this way. just say you hate sapphic couples
13-Alastor's backstory sucks" - picking something just to fill the hole
14- Ace/Arophobia - idk man this list is against sapphic couples so i'm going to go with this just being something random they wanted to put
15- Vee's get too much focus, AGAIN" Oh my god this one hurt, out of all the Vees, Val and and Vox got the most screen time and even then they're establishing ep was just that, ESTABLISHING them so they don't feel like they come out of nowhere when S2 comes since Vox is the big bad there. Val got his establishing ep in ep4 so we know what is at stake and what is Angeldust's situation, his guest spot in ep6 was to establish that Angeldust can resist Val and took a stand against his abuser, which showed he was someone who can be worthy of redemption, but oh guess an important character peiece is too much. Vel has the least screen time, but her enterance was memorable and she'll probably get more. so idk WTF this is about.
Gonna be honest i was going to do all of these, but 15 is where i got my limit because everything else after is just repetittive dribble that's insult a character who hasn't shown up yet and insulting another character who plays an important part
Antis of this show really are just Lily Orchard wannabes because they assume the worst of something just because they don't even like it.
if you are anything like this or follow this type of mindset you need to reevaluate your view points.
#hazbin hotel#Anti hazbin hotel people are weirdos#Bad faith “criticism” isn't Criticism#don't be this much of a hater

The idea of Alastor picking off The Glamours~ one by one sounds awesome and terrifying. Would definitely make Angel Dust hella paranoid. Sounds like an ongoing storyline for the show (if Hazbin Hotel had like 20~ episodes per season instead of EIGHT. I will never not be salty about that). In this hypothetical version of the show The Glamours~ would be the main antagonists of Season 1 (let’s say Carmilla wasn’t forced to kill the Exorcist and Exterminations remain yearly). [Episodes 1 - 4 (Plus the Pilot) (minus the A plot in ep 1 and the Overlord plot in ep 3) The rest of the season is filled out with character development and filler.] Alastor gains Husk’s soul during the middle of the season and tortures Niffty into insanity near the end of the season (maybe because they were snooping into his 7 year absence and his potential deal with Lilith or Eve/Roo?) leaving Angel Dust all alone. The main antagonists of Season 2 would be Adam & Lute and would follow more closely with the cannon shows storylines (episodes 5 - 8 happen almost unchanged) with Angel Dust as secondary antagonist growing more and more paranoid, holding his cards close to the chest, planning to rescue Husk & Niffty (somehow) and take revenge on Alastor (maybe involving her brother and father or a deal with a mysterious benefactor (Lilith or Roo/Eve?).
Interesting. Charlie would probably need to be swapped with someone less morally scrupulous or be given a new outlook on life in order for her to allow Alastor to keep doing this, but still.
What are Sarah & Thomas’ reactions to finding out their father sold his soul to save them?
Emotional. Sarah's beyond touched that he was willing to do that in order to keep them safe. Vox can do basically any awful thing he wants now and Sarah will never waver in her belief that he's A Good Father/Person, Actually. Thomas... uh, it's messy. He resents his dad and was trying to get comfortable with thinking his new form was deserved, but now that he knows that Vox is willing to stick out his neck for them like that, everything's suddenly become all complicated. So he does love them after all? Why only now? Does he actually love them, or did he only do it because that's what he "should" do? He doesn't really get a chance to unpack all those feelings though, given how much he and Vox avoid each other.
Had some ideas about Proto Vox and Niffty while driving
Vox and Niffty meet when Vox's boss hires her to make his clothes/costumes. She's not under contract with his overlord (not under contract with anyone, in fact); she's just freelancing, so she only comes by the compound once every few weeks.
The two of them form a tentative bond over the hardships they face due to their demonic forms and their shared ambitions to eventually rise above their stations.
Vox is hamstrung by being locked into a deal with his boss and only ever being allowed to leave the base in her company. Niffty is just a regular sinner with no real power, but she uses her seamstress job and unassuming appearance to network and collect/trade information.
Vox is privy to tons of information about his overlord's business dealings and private affairs since he's almost always with her. Up until this point, he hadn't been able to make use of that information due to his limited mobility, but now he has Niffty. He shares confidential information with her, and she carries it back outside. She then trades it to others in exchange for favors/assets/information, which she shares with Vox whenever she sees him next.
They're able to keep this arrangement up for a few years. Niffty's starting to accumulate some power, but Vox is still stuck under his boss' thumb. One day, something bad goes down between Vox and his boss, and he confides in Niffty that he needs to get out of this fucking place; he feels like he's gonna snap if he doesn't. Sympathizing with her friend, Niffty decides to take a risk. She spreads a rumor that Vox's boss has done/is planning on doing something to slight the Radio Demon.
Just as she'd hoped, Alastor shows up at Vox's overlord's compound and kills her, broadcasting her scream to the city. Niffty is excited, not only because there's now a power vacuum that she can take advantage of but also because Vox is free. However, he's nowhere to be found. Niffty assumes he split to go strike out on his own and tries not to resent him for not getting in contact with her (and hopes that she didn't accidentally get him killed by sending the Radio Demon after the woman whose company he was always in).
Years pass, and Niffty builds up her business, eventually achieving overlord status. At an event, she happens to cross paths with Alastor... and Vox! She's thrilled to see him again (and that he's not dead). It turns out that Alastor took an interest in him when he went to kill his boss, and Vox has been with him ever since. Things were a bit rocky at first, but after a while, the two of them became friends actual friends, not a master and servant like Vox and his old boss had been. With Alastor's guidance, Vox has been building up power of his own since he last saw Niffty. He's recently discovered that he can modify his body and has just gotten his first augmentation: a pair of neon blue claws (which look suspiciously similar to Alastor's, but Niffty doesn't mention that). The two of them agree to stay in touch and possibly do business together now that they've both got more than just information to offer each other.
Vox and Niffty remain friends, occasionally meeting up for business-related things or just to chat. Vox slowly upgrades more and more parts of his body. Niffty's happy for him that he's finally able to gain some control over the form he hated. She jokes with him that she's jealous; he gets to change his body however he wants, but she's stuck looking this way forever. Do ladybugs go through metamorphosis? However, things are starting to get tense between Vox and Alastor. She can't tell if it's because of the upgrades, Vox's increasing confidence and success, or something else.
Eventually, Vox and Alastor fall out. Niffty is just as shocked as the rest of the city when Vox emerges from their fight not only alive, but having forced Alastor to retreat. Yes, it was a stalemate and Vox came out of it the worse for wear, but it was still something no one else had been able to do before. While she knows the split from Alastor hurt him deeply, Niffty is happy for Vox that he's suddenly in the spotlight, ready to claim the power he always craved in a body that feels right to him.
Alastor has a dilemma now: he wants to make Vox pay for ruining things between them and daring to try to compete with him, but he doesn't want to kill Vox. He's also curious about a certain ability of his that he's aware of but has yet to fully explore. The solution to both problems presents itself in the form of Niffty. While she and Vox truly aren't that close, she's an easy target, and Alastor's been feeling spiteful these past few months.
Vox is shaken by Niffty's "death," but it does nothing to dissuade him from the path he's on– quite the opposite. However, he's horrified when he learns about Alastor's new maid. Seeing Niffty, a clever and driven woman who he'd once commiserated with over their pathetic demonic forms, reduced to a hyper, childish freak is like something out of a nightmare. Vox could hear the message Alastor was trying to send loud and clear: "I can do this to her, and can do it to you too." The thought of losing everything and truly becoming what everyone had once assumed him to be is terrifying, but Vox's pride and hatred of Alastor will not allow him to back down. He takes measures to protect himself from his former friend and continues working to build his soon-to-be empire.
When Vox and Niffty reunite at the hotel, neither them is in the right headspace to process what's wrong. However, there's a little twinge of... something deep within them. Something like sorrow.

just finished the legend of vox machina and oh my lord okay spoilers below so y’know don’t keep reading if u haven’t watched it
tldr; overall it gets a 8.5/10. definitely recommend if you’re into fantasy animation like she-ra (2018) or the dragon prince, although this has more adult content. good show, good characters, good plot! <3
okay so anyways i’m very upset that vax and keyleth did not kiss🙄 if there is a season 2 (which i’m hoping there is because that was a major cliffhanger) then someone pls let them kiss 👏 if u have made fanart of them or if you have seen fanart of them pls send it to me or tag the account below because i’d love to see some they are my comfort ship rn
i want to give percy a hug so bad.
i really liked all the characters, they were interesting and entertaining and hopefully in the next season or whatever he get a little more backstory for them. obviously we have the most backstory for percy and cassandra but hopefully we can get more insight into the twins past, keyleths past although i think hers is a bit self explanatory, pikes past, scanlans past, grogs past, just everybody’s past! what happened to them that shaped who they are now? it doesn’t have to be shown over a whole ass season like percy’s was but at least give them an episode or two of some backstory but work it in in a way that’s at least relevant to the plot.
overall i’ll give it a 8.5/10. it was entertaining, interesting, and visually appealing. only thing that i didn’t particularly like was like i said before how we didn’t get to see much insight into all the main characters but if we’re getting another season then that’s not a problem because hopefully we will get it then. another thing was the antagonists. the briarwoods were a really good antagonist given the fact that they tied into percy’s past but the transition from dragons to vampires and witches and shit was a little weird. but i assume the dragon in the beginning sets us up for season 2 because of the way season 1 ended with the dragons flying towards emon. even still, i get they had to set it up like that but it could’ve been a bit smoother or maybe the antagonists could have had a bit more in common because it’s weird they defeated a whole dragon in like less than three episodes and then took another nine to defeat the briarwoods. if this was ‘the legend of the de rolos’ then okay but it’s not it’s the legend of VOX MACHINA not just percy. but regardless it was a good watch and the pacing was decent although i got a bit confused about the time frame a couple times. overall i’d recommend it if you’re into fantasy and animation. it reminds me of she ra (2018) and of the dragon prince but of course with adult content which definitely adds to the humor. but yeah if you like those two shows then you’ll most likely like this. i’d love to hear you guys’ thoughts on it! sorry this was so in depth but it’s fresh in my mind so i’m just getting all my thoughts out.

Episode 1 really feels like episode 2 and some things/plot seem like season 2. [Hey they probably didn't know there getting two seasons.] But if you didn't seem the pilot and you didn't know these character. Then you just get throw in and All these characters are just there.
Exactly. . . . Viv should've realized by now that not EVERY BEING ON EARTH watched the pilot before putting the show in production. Regardless, you still need to take time to develop your story and characters. It's all about taking things slow. Focus on the main thing first (all the while throwing in some hints about a reveal here and there) THEN you can focus on something else. Even if there's a second arc you want to explore (in each episode mainly) have it be your B plot. B plots are technically stories focused on your secondary characters. Plus, the letter B is second to A, meaning #2. So have the focus on your secondary characters be your #2 plot instead of your #1 plot (your main plot).
For instance, your #1 main plot; focus on Charlie trying to figure out a way to redeem her sinners and send them to heaven. Meanwhile, we can also focus on Angel in a few episodes, and explore his troubles working for Valentino, being your #2 plot. Maybe while Charlie can focus on achieving her goal, she and the rest of the characters can help Angel get out of his situation. And since Viv really wants to make this show about relationships between characters, she can try and develop some sort of bond between Angel and Charlie. I bring up Charlie cuz he was the first to accept her offer to live in the hotel, even though he doesn't believe in the idea of redeeming sinners. A friendship could blossom between the two and Angel could have more trust in Charlie. Charlie is fully aware of the troubles Angel is having now and should be more determined than anything to help him get out of his situation. And if Viv wants to give him a boyfriend, she can WAIT on that.
Another thing to work on is focusing on the main characters' conflict, what they're up against, and the story involving them first, THEN you can introduce new ones and focus on their arc (without fast-pacing it).
We already have a conflict going on with the villainous Angels and them exterminating sinners and we've introduced Adam and Lute as our first new antagonists. They can stay as our main antagonist until the season ends. We DO NOT need another conflict involving Vox figuring out a way to bring down Alastor in that same season (with only eight episodes mind you). That can wait for another season. Viv will probably forget about that shit anyway.
Don't just make things clear for newcomers, do the same for people who already watched the pilot, cuz there are at least some hints they aren't gonna grasp that they are meant to already know. Me for example: It came as a shock to me that Husk was an overlord.
... Actually, shocked isn't the right word. But it was unexpected.
Some people say that pilot watchers should've already taken the hint that Husk was in Overlord in the pilot just cuz of a picture scene that was shown:
In the pilot, Vaggie tells Angel about Alastor, and the picture of him and all the other overlords is shown. If you look closely, Husk is standing right behind Alastor (so is Niffty), Okay . . . I can understand them hinting at the "overlord Husk" thing by showing him as a silhouette, making it hard to recognize him. Then again, this is completely brushed over in like 3 seconds with the camera moving upward with Husk is off-screen. So of course I'm not gonna immediately see him and theorize that he was an overlord. That's why it came off-guard when he revealed it. Not only that, but NIFFTY is there too!? She's right beside Alastor, shown as a silhouette along with Husk and the rest of the Overlords. So what . . . you're gonna tell me that Niffty was an overlord too, but then made a deal with Alastor at some point and ended up losing her title?? (Seriously, PLEASE don't tell me that) No way in hell u can convince me she was an overlord too just cuz she was shown here. IDK why she's shown here. There's not much character in her anyway apart from "Hehe! Me is psycho! Me like bad boys! Hehe!"
